Amy Tzu-Yu Chen is a driven and passionate Machine Learning Engineer at Uptake, an IIoT AI company. Based in Los Angeles, California, she is a data practitioner and computational linguist who enjoys working with data using R, Python, and SQL. Amy has a deep interest in data science tooling, creative visualization, and exploring different statistical and machine learning models. She has relevant experience in the field, having worked in adtech at System1, where she developed machine learning models forecasting online advertising metrics. She also improved and extracted product value with hypothesis testing and multi-armed bandit algorithm. Amy has also designed and developed internal R packages for streamlining data science workflow. Amy is an active organizer for LA West R Users Group and SatRdays, affordable one day R conference for the local community. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with others in the field. Amy is currently working on AI/ML Platform for Uptake's Fleet and Federal customers, and her tech stack includes AWS, Python, and Terraform. Amy has a Master of Science (MS) in Computational Linguistics from the University of Washington, which she is expected to complete in December 2022. She also has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Statistics, Minors: Urban and Regional Studies, German, and Japanese from the University of California, Los Angeles. Amy's tech stack includes ML, Data Scientist, AI, Python, SQL, AWS, Terraform, Research Scientist, NLP, and test. She is always looking to expand her knowledge and skills in the field.
